Sorting system with discs

At our customer’s site, we recently delivered an advanced sorting system, with Aris B.V. providing the camera.
Plants are placed on the buffer table using a forklift, after which the operator positions them into the discs on the conveyor belt. Inside the sorting cabinet, the plants are fully scanned while rotating. The flashing of the lights is captured by our camera, but in reality, it is barely noticeable to the human eye and does not cause any disruption on the work floor. The camera analyzes the number of leaves and the height of each plant. Based on this data, the plants are automatically directed to the correct lane.

The operators remove the sorted plants from the discs, pack them, and place them into trays. The carts with trays then proceed to the sales process, while the empty discs are reused.
Plants that do not yet meet the criteria are directed to the rear lane and returned to the nursery with the forklift to continue growing.
